Get to know the real Swaziland

A traveller's guide to Swaziland

This new edition of the Traveller's guide to Swaziland caters to those who want to go deeper and learn more about Swaziland. Bob Forrester, Swazi Archaeologist and author of the guide paints a rich picture of Swazi history, culture, politics and Archaeology while maintaining an impartial attitude. The travel guide includes the standard accommodations and restaurants but its key asset is the new part of various local attractions directly benefitting poor rural Swazi. In close cooperation with host families the guide leads interested travellers to rock paintings that will be explained by Swazi whose Great-grandfathers painted these rocks. The guide also describes several possibilities where and how to spend a night with a local family, sleeping in a round hut and enjoying a supper cooked at an open fire. The guide also proposes several hiking tours and other sport-activities. Each of these projects are devised by rural Swazi and will help to increase their income and allow tourists as well as Swazi to get to know each other better. The guide will be available by the end of 2009 and can be bought in Swaziland or ordered from sahee.
Only thanks to sahee's support it has been possible to re-edit this traveler's guide and include a focus to poor Swazi.
The income generated by teh sale of the travel guides will make the project sustainable: it will help to keep all information up to date and enables the editors to finance printing costs for new editions.
