Homeopathy: a good, low cost and humane alternative

Zamimphilo Homeopathy Project

Homeopathy in Swaziland is still a relatively new form of treatment. It has only been availed to the general population particularly rural people in 2008 on the inception of the Swaziland homeopathy project. Soon after the start of SHP sahee became a supporter of the project (see Homeopathy shall become accessible for all). Since then sahee continued to support the vision and mission of SHP to provide free or affordable homeopathy in Swaziland based on the positive development of the projects. The education of Swazi homeopaths during the project Propagation of a holistic treatment and homeopathy in Swaziland and the establishment of rural outreach clinics during the project Sustainable Homeopathy laid the foundation for the decentralization of the SHP services and hence generally of the health service. Thanks to the rural clinics the health services come closer to the patients and hence help minimizing the costs for the mostly impoverished families that seek help. This project shall consolidate the services provided by SHP and further extend the outreach of homeopathic treatment by opening and maintaining additional four rural clinics in each of Swaziland’s four regions. During this phase SHP particularly emphasizes the care of elderly people since they not only constitute 60% of the number of patients seen in the clinics but are also the pillars in their communities. Thus their optimal health is essential for the well being of their families (on this issue see Dignity for elderly people).
