On our own behalf:

the sahee foundation board bids farewell to one of its founding members:

Caterina Meier Pfister is leaving the Foundation mid-year. We regret her departure and thank her sincerely for her great commitment, the excellent cooperation and her interest in the sahee projects. We wish her all the best on her further path of life.

Sahee welcomes three new, very competent members. We are looking forward to further develop the foundation in an enlarged circle and to support the partner organisations with new expertise:

Welcome to Sahee: Karin Zbinden, Manuela Kälbling and Matthias Geck!

Sahee follows the recommendations of its umbrella organisation SwissFoundations.

We strongly believe that in a time of emergency, our cooperation with trusted partners must be deepened. Together, we hope to contribute towards the alleviation of the direst effects of the Corona-Crisis on our beneficiaries.

Emergency aid in times of the Corona pandemic

Our target countries Peru and Eswatini are resolutely implementing the global recommendations to contain the Corona pandemic. However, the virus has spread largely in Peru.

The impact of the lockdown on the population and especially on poorer people is dramatic: many of our beneficiaries are working in the informal sector and have no reserves whatsoever. Those who earn nothing today cannot feed their families in the evening. Our beneficiaries have no insurance. The very limited compensation payments from the government do not cover the cost of living. Sahee has therefore set up an emergency fund that enables our partner organisations to provide emergency aid to all those people and families with whom they work and who are facing problems that threaten their existence.
